diffferent from 'giving'.. which often implies some reciprocall toll; 'gifting' is the bestowing of assets with no any expectation of return.. 

the sheer joy i get from seeing you grow and learn, is the payment.. you owe me nothing.

mentoring is an ethical act.. clean from protege dealings.. not false, manipulative, or greedy.. honest and consistent in communications and actions.. must not steal the proteges opportunities for struggle or moment,
